If a tax-effective route exists for your situation, we’ll help you find it, though we believe impact ultimately matters more than tax benefits.

Yes to both. You decide where your gift goes, whether that’s a specific charity, one of our cause area funds, or a portfolio we help you shape around your priorities. You can also give anonymously if you’d prefer the recipient not know the source. Anything you share with us is treated as confidential, and we don’t pass donor information to charities without your consent.

We don’t charge any fees on your donation. 100% of your gift reaches the charities you choose. When you give through our platform, your donation is received by Giving What We Can and then granted on to the charities you’ve selected, which also means you receive a single tax receipt rather than one per charity. Our own operating costs are funded separately, so supporting our work is always optional and never taken from your gift.

Yes. We support a wide range of giving methods, including donor-advised funds, bank transfers, and cryptocurrency, alongside standard card and online payments. Tell us how you’d prefer to give and we’ll help you find the simplest, most cost-efficient route.

We rely on independent, impact-focused charity evaluators to identify where donations do the most good, and we publish our reasoning so you can scrutinise it yourself. Our own operations are funded separately through donations to our work, not by the charities we recommend, so there’s no financial incentive shaping where we point you.
